Another Australian State Copies Baz Luhrmann

Now that Australia, The Movie has been open a week or so to a pretty lukewarm reception, Australia, The Country might be a bit disappointed that they decided to do so much tourism board promotion tied to the film. This will not be to Oz what Lord of the Rings was to New Zealand, it seems. That hasn't stopped a couple of Australian states jumping on the bandwagon. First off South Australia got you to make your version of South Australia, The Movie. And now the breakaway island of Tasmania ha
Facticus evadus

Dave GrovesIâÂÂm a tad concerned about the recent spate of amnesia outbreaks in Tasmania. Bob Gordon is the latest official in a long line to be struck down with this malady. The real cause remains unknown, but I have read about it on the net and experts have put it down to a rare virusâ¦the facticus evadus strain that seems to have surfaced in

Time Away from Blogging.

.....but "I'll Be Back"I've haven't posted as often lately as I've bee preoccupied with updates to my website on the "Lepidoptera of Tasmania". As I've stated elsewhere it has been in a bit of a mess since I mucked up the database. I'm slowly rebuilding it but it still needs a lot of work. It now has 275 Tasmanian species with photos or illustrations. It also has a check list of 1,472 species known to be found in Tasmania. I still have more photos to add and I have to get the notes written up

My dining room.....

This is our new dining room. Sweet Pea walls, quarter strength for the ceiling with lovely curd coloured trim. The floor is
tassie oak and is waiting to be stained (sometime in January). It's amazing what knocking out a small wall and a coat of paint does.ÃÂ And here it is from another angle.

Stephen Conroy's lackeys crack a funny

If we ever needed proof that the Dept of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy had become infected with its minister's mania, the following quote supplies it:"ISPs will be recognised for their participation in the Pilot. This recognition will strengthen their brand image with the community."Really? Excuse me while I roll about laffing. All I know is that iNet has said that it wants take part in the trial. Presumably to get its hands on free filtering hardware/software and so keep its
