Tpull's Weekly DC comics Review – Part Two Technorati position 2
Adam Strange Special 1by Jim Starlin and Rick LeonardiPick up this issue if you want to follow Adam Strange on his temporal detour from the Rann/Thanagar Holy War. Just like the Hawkman Special, Adam meets a future-Synnar, and hops through time. Adam is another one of the Aberrant Six, which Synnar will need at some point. Leonardi makes a valiant attempt to portray the strangeness of it all, but this would have been an awesome assignment to give to Steve Ditko. Hopefully we get the res

Feast to Famine Technorati position 3
The Manga gods (ie publishers) smiled down on me in August.  After having such a frustrating time with having to decide with books to cull in July, August orders (shipping in October) was too easy!  I had to go through Previews twice just to make sure I wasn’t imagining it.  But, it was true!  My usual manga order was just under $60, right at my goal!  I was so shocked after July, I thought there had to be a mistake!  But, it seems publishers needed a breather too.  Or they’ve got another delug

Tpull's Weekly DC comics Review – Part One Technorati position 4
Due to the holiday, comics came out a day later than usual, so the reviews also start about a day later. Well, that and I have a day job...Detective comics 848by Paul Dini and Dustin NguyenHush is up to his usual tricks, running Batman around with his other rogues’ gallery of villains, while Hush himself goes after Catwoman. Scarecrow actually uses Venom on a kid, and the effects pump him up a little faster than I remember it acting on a person before. What kind of effect will that ha

- twierdzi Venti

Best Idea Ever: Chuck Palahnuik Approached To Write DC Comic Book Miniseries Technorati position 6
Fight Club and Choke author Chuck Palahniuk tells MTV that DC comics approached him about doing a comic book miniseries. Nothing has come of the talks, but Palahniuk says he would love to create a ghost/monster series like the Tales from the Crypt comics he read as a kid.I would love to see what Palahniuk could bring to the world of paneled storytelling. I’m sure it would be something unlike we’ve ever seen before. DC’s Vertigo label needs to ink a deal with him right now. Am I wrong?Relate

Incoming: Absolute Sandman Vol. 3, Coraline GN Technorati position 7
©DC comics, Inc.Volume 3 has arrived, and it’s just as impressive and glorious as the first two. The main extra feature in this one is the original script for issue 50, my favorite single issue. Neil scripted it in a different way than his previous stories, allowing artist P. Craig Russell to lay out the story as he liked, making it more of a collaboration than usual. While I love these oversized volumes, I have to say they’re tough to hold up while reading! But if you like top quality prin

Legendary Letterer Gaspar Saladino ProfiledPablo DefendiniBobby Reed of Dial B for Blog has posted a 12-part profile of Gaspar Saladino, the comic book letterer and logo designer who worked for over fifty years, mostly for DC comics.
